my 2020 MDX is cool, but wants the brand new one

I'm a big MDX fans and have had my 2020 MDX Advance/Ent/Towing for just over two years. I got it for a steal at $21k with low financing, even though it had 125k miles and wasn't our favorite color. We still owe about half.

My son loves the DVD player, and we're big fans of the ventilated seats and handling.

That's why I'm only eyeing the MDX Type S next, for the better handling, air ride, and pano roof. Anything less just isn't an upgrade.

I've babied this 2020 MDX, meticulous with maintenance, and it's almost at 160k miles. We really want that Type S, but with 5-7% interest rates, tripling our payment for a "slightly nicer" car is tough. Can our 2020 hold out a few more years? It's worth $13-14k now, but that's not much trade in for the latest MDX

It sounds like your 2020 MDX is still going strong, and with some good upkeep, it's holding onto its value pretty well.

The Type S does bring some snazzy handling and a few extra features to the table, but let's be honest, the higher payments and interest rates can definitely sting.

If your current MDX is still meeting all your needs and running smoothly, sticking with it for a little while longer could really save you some cash and help you dodge that pesky depreciation.

Are you interested in crunching some numbers to see how keeping your trusty 2020 compares to making the leap to the Type S?

I don't want to disappoint you, but the type s isn't a slightly nicer car, it's in a different league, not even comparable. Don't get me wrong, the regular mdx is excellent and 160k miles is nothing, so you'll have no problem holding it on for a while until you get the type s. Drove the thing a few months ago and now my car feels slow

gosh, that 5-7% interest is a killer right now. personally, tripling your payment for an upgrade that's 'slightly nicer' financially doesn't make sense unless your current car is giving you major headaches. I think you need to wait for rates to drop
